TrashFire Records was founded on a simple principle: if an artist is too volatile for a conventional label, they are probably one chorus away from a deluxe edition. Its catalogue crosses pop, funk, rap and several genres invented during arguments with streaming platforms.
The current roster includes Taffy Starlight, whose private life has become a renewable source of chart material; Mack Daddy, funk’s most heavily accessorised legal opinion; and Lil’ Passive Aggressive, a rapper whose diss tracks always begin ‘no offence’ and end with a carefully worded group-chat exit.
Sessions are supervised by engineers trained in hot mixes, hotter tempers and pretending not to hear what was said between takes. Finished masters leave the building louder, shinier and accompanied by a press release denying that anybody cried in the vocal booth.
